World Religions
So our major assignment in World Religions is to write a research paper about one of the major world religions. I chose Hasidic Judaism, mostly because of the Chaim Potok books that I've read. I find that sect of Judaism so intriguing. So this week we finally got our first drafts of the paper back. I was shocked, not because of any great writing on my part, but because of how the papers were graded. I can honestly say that I've never had a teacher, ever, who cares sooo much about the formatting and doesn't care at all what was actually written. I feel my paper is greatly lacking in good, solid, research-y content. When I was writing the first draft, I knew that our professor was really going to focus on the formatting (mostly because of how much he talked about certain formatting issues during classes). So I made sure lots of my formatting was correct, and didn't work so hard at my writing. Anyway, I wonder if my professor is going to look more carefully at the writing now in this second draft we're handing in this Friday. Somehow I can't imagine he will.

Have you read "The Chosen"? I always liked that book. Anyway, that should be an interesting assignment. Bring it in to the WC if you ever get a chance... ^_^
ReplyDeleteI've never read "The Chosen" but I have the book so I really should tackle that someday.
