Piano moving

In my blog post last night I failed to mention probably the most interesting part of the day. After attending a music major's senior recital, my parents came back into Collegedale in their truck to help Tim and Jonathan move a piano. Some friends of theirs gave them a piano that was just sitting in their garage. We gathered a gang of guys (and Bryn, my mum and I) and drove over to get the piano. The guys weren't at their apartment, but showed up soon and then the real fun began. My mum and I documented the event on camera while Bryn tried to help (without too much success) and the guys somehow managed to lift the piano into the bed of the truck and tie it down. Then we had to transport it the not-even-one-mile back to Jonathan and Tim's apartment. Most of the guys sat in the bed of the truck to steady the instrument and it survived the trip intact. Then there was more picture-taking to be done and finally the piano was at its new home. And that's the piano adventures of last night. I figured it'd be more interesting than to tell you anything about how my today went. Let's just say, not all that great after learning that the group I'm in for entrepreneurship class drew #1 and so we have to make sure our project is finished and organized for our presentation this coming Tuesday. It'll be a stressful weekend.

  1. They're so lucky to have a piano! That's one major thing I've missed while here at Southern. I'm glad it survived.
